Compostable Agricultural Films for Professional Growers
Mulch systems engineered for real field conditions —
no plastic to remove after harvest.
Designed to biodegrade, not fragment into microplastics.
For vegetables, berries, melons — and tree-planting systems.

The Real Cost of Polyethylene Plastic Mulch
Most growers first compare mulch by price per roll.
But polyethylene mulch is not a one-season decision.
After harvest, it must be lifted, shaken, rolled, loaded and hauled to landfill.
On a mid-size vegetable farm, this cleanup can take 2–3 weeks of labor every season.
And even after removal, polyethylene does not biodegrade.
It slowly fragments into microplastics that remain in the soil.
In Annual Crops
Vegetable farms remove polyethylene mulch every season.
The plastic must be lifted, shaken to remove soil, rolled, loaded and transported to landfill.
Even after removal, fragments remain in the soil profile.

In Orchards & Tree Systems
Successful tree establishment depends on effective weed control during the first years after planting.
Traditional organic mulches often decompose too quickly to provide long-term protection, leaving young trees exposed to weed competition and moisture stress.
OrganicGUARD was designed specifically for this critical establishment phase.
It provides durable weed suppression long enough to support early tree growth while remaining environmentally responsible.
As the tree planting system matures, OrganicGUARD gradually integrates into the natural soil processes.
Over time, natural plant residues such as leaves, grasses, and organic matter accumulate above the membrane, gradually forming an organic layer. As this layer develops, the material becomes progressively integrated into the upper soil horizon, where microbial activity gradually breaks it down.
Through this natural biological process, the material is ultimately converted into water, CO₂ and biomass, without leaving persistent plastic residues in the soil.

BUILT FOR REAL CROP CYCLES
Not all biodegradable mulch is the same.
FilmOrganic systems are engineered with controlled field lifespans, designed to perform through the crop cycle before biodegrading.
The material engineering behind this durability is explained in Mulch Film Technology.
Engineered durability first.
Then biodegradation.
Designed for real agricultural systems:
• Short-season vegetable crops
• Full strawberry production cycles
• Multi-year orchard systems
• Long-term tree and perennial protection

INSIGHTS
Understanding the real impact of plastic mulch in agriculture.
Plastic mulch affects much more than installation.
• Removal labor at the end of the season • Equipment and disposal costs • Plastic fragments left in the soil
